CCG Team help raise £21K for Bowel Cancer UK

A titanic total of £21,324.41 was raised for Bowel Cancer UK following the recent Titanic Yardmen Cycle and Walk. Over 1000 people got their flat caps on, walked and cycled all in aid of raising money for and awareness of bowel cancer.

Olympic Torch comes to East Belfast

 

The Olympic Torch Relay passes through Inner East Belfast TWICE. The two key dates are Sunday 3rd of June and Wednesday 6th of June.

Victoria Parkrun celebrates first birthday

Victoria Parkrun celebrated its first birthday on Saturday with party guests including Naomi Long MP, Sammy Douglas MLA, Chris Lyttle MLA and World Champion Boxer Wayne McCullough.

Belfast Victoria Parkrun is a weekly, timed 5km run and is part of the wider Parkrun network.  It is run entirely by volunteers and there is no charge to participants. It takes place every Saturday morning at 9 a.m with all ages and abilities welcome.

Contract Update

Belfast City Council has confirmed that the contract for the development of the Connswater Community Greenway has been terminated after a year-long dispute with contractors Connswater Joint Venture (CJV). Read BBC News story here

Unfortunately we cannot comment further on the BBC news story which you may have seen yesterday.

Belfast City Council is still involved in a legal process with the contractor and is not in a position to comment in detail with regard to the outcome of the independent conciliation report. We and Belfast City Council hope that there will be a speedy conclusion to enable the CCG to be completed as soon as possible.
