Carew II Family & Training Centre, a centre providing crèche facilities, afterschools club, youth activities and adult training, was the latest recipient of a CCG Community Activity Grant, made possible by the Big Lottery Fund funding received by the Connswater Community Greenway.

Bluebell Walk

The Connswater Community Greenway held its annual Bluebell Walk on Saturday 1st May. Local residents and stakeholders took part in the walk from Victoria Park, following the course of the Greenway, to the Cregagh Glen. 

Things looked ominous at Victoria Park due to the weather. Fortunately the heavy rain never materialised and our 20 intrepid walkers made it to the Cregagh Glen where we picnicked in the sunshine at Lisnabreeny Rath.

On Monday 26 April Business in the Community, in partnership with Connswater Shopping Centre and East Belfast Partnership, encouraged local business employees and residents to get out and about along part of the proposed Connswater Community Greenway route for a healthy lunchtime walk.

Organic GardeningIn the finest tradition of previous CCG events we had clear blue skies and sunshine for the event which attracted 14 local residents to Conservation Volunteers (CVNI) Organic Community Allotment in Carrickfergus. CVNI have been running this allotment for approximately one year in partnership with two Carrickfergus based community groups.
